The Role
A new opportunity exists to join a growing finance business launching a dedicated commercial broking division in Cheltenham, Melbourne.
Joining the business during an exciting growth phase, you will play a key role in building the commercial lending function. Backed by an established brokerage platform, strong lender relationships, and operational support, the role allows you to focus on relationship development, deal origination, and delivering tailored funding solutions.
Working across asset finance and commercial lending, you will partner with SME clients, investors, and referral networks to structure funding solutions aligned to business growth objectives. You will manage transactions end-to-end, from origination and credit structuring through to settlement, while leveraging an established lender panel and market presence.
Suited to a commercially minded broker or banking professional, the role offers autonomy, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to build a sustainable client portfolio within a supportive, growth-focused environment.
Both salaried and commission-only structures will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and manage asset finance and commercial lending opportunities across SME and business clients
- Develop strong referral relationships with accountants, business advisers, vehicle and equipment suppliers, and other professional networks
- Structure and present high-quality finance submissions to bank and non-bank lenders
- Manage transactions end-to-end from initial enquiry through to settlement
- Provide tailored funding solutions aligned to client growth and operational requirements
- Maintain strong lender relationships to achieve competitive commercial outcomes
- Manage pipeline activity and maintain accurate CRM records
- Ensure all activities are conducted in line with compliance and regulatory obligations
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and establishment of the commercial broking division
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in asset finance, commercial broking, business banking, or commercial lending
- Demonstrated experience structuring and managing complex lending applications
- Proven track record of managing client relationships and achieving lending outcomes
- Established referral networks or demonstrated ability to generate new business
- Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management (or equivalent)
- Relevant industry accreditation and licensing required to operate as a mortgage broker
- o MFAA or FBAA accreditation preferred
- o RG146 qualifications or equivalent highly regarded
- Membership with a recognised industry body preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Online Exchange and PowerPoint.
- Ability to generate new business opportunities and maintain referral networks
- Strong understanding of asset finance and commercial lending products
- Strong relationship-building and business development capability
- Self-motivated and results-driven and ability to work autonomously
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions concurrently
