The Role

We are seeking a dynamic Superintendent Representative to join our team and oversee projects in the areas of Water-Wastewater, Drainage, Waterways and Wetlands, and Utilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management within the government sector, with experience in both client-side and contractor-side roles.

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful development and delivery of projects throughout their lifecycle.
  
Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight and Management:
  • Supervise project development and delivery, serving as the primary client-side liaison.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and contractors to meet project objectives efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Uphold project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Implement corrective measures to address deviations from project standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, government entities, and utilities.
  • Facilitate transparent communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • Address stakeholder concerns promptly and proactively.
Risk Management:
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement contingency plans to minimise project disruptions.
Budget and Schedule Management:
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as needed to meet milestones.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and optimise resource allocation.
Contract Administration:
  • Review project contracts to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Manage change orders, variations and contract modifications in collaboration with legal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Health and Safety Oversight:
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any identified hazards promptly.
  • Implement safety training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management within the Water-Wastewater, Drainage, Waterways and Wetlands, and Utilities sectors.
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or construction management.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the water and utilities sectors.
  • Familiarity with government procurement processes and contract administration working with government authorities and utilities.
  • Experience in both client-side and contractor-side roles preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within scope, time, and budget.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the water and utilities sectors.
