The Role
As a surveillance officer you will conduct site surveillance of construction works under the quality and auditing team on a variety of civil and built-firm construction projects.
You will communicate the resolution of issues on site with contractors to continuously build and maintain relationships as well as liaising with all stakeholders for safe and quality outcomes.
Use your supreme knowledge of building regulations and codes to implement, coordinate and monitor compliance for all on site.
Experience
- Managing and coordinating construction staff to ensure that they follow implemented guidelines and are completing tasks correctly and efficiently.
- Analysing, managing and mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with building regulations and codes.
- Communicating effectively and coordinating with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that they have the resources, materials, and information they require.
- Working knowledge and application of regulatory OH&S traffic and environmental management requirements for site works.
- Capacity to apply knowledge and experience in execution of risk-based surveillance.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility by resolving issues quickly and adapting to changing situations.
- Well-developed time management skills with the ability to complete projects to a high standard within timelines.
- Up to date knowledge of OH&S and other legislative requirements.
- Able to demonstrate use and knowledge of corporate surveillance systems, databases, tools, etc.
- Methodical with strong organisation skills, great attention to detail as well as exceptional conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Current drivers’ licence and construction induction card (white card).
- Demonstratable computer skills and the ability to use multiple Microsoft programs.

The client office is based in Inner Melbourne CBD but this role will require travel and site work on a daily basis so it will be essential to have a reliable vehicle to be successful in this role.
