The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Contract Administrator to support projects in the areas of Water-Wastewater, Drainage, Waterways and Wetlands, and Utilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management and administration within the government sector, preferably on the client side, though contractor-side experience will also be considered.

This role involves overseeing the development, execution, and management of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  
Key Responsibilities:

Contract Development and Management:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with project requirements, regulations, and standards.
  • Prepare and manage contract documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions, addressing potential risks or issues.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
Contract Execution and Administration:
  • Oversee contract execution, ensuring all parties meet their obligations and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to facilitate contract administration and project delivery.
Change Management and Dispute Resolution:
  • Manage contract changes and variations, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
  • Address and resolve contractual disputes or issues promptly and liaise with legal counsel as needed.
Financial Management:
  • Monitor and manage contract budgets, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits.
  • Process and review invoices, payments, and financial claims related to contracts.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on contract status and changes.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive contract documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on contract performance and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Law, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CCCM) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration within the Water-Wastewater, Drainage, Waterways and Wetlands, and Utilities sectors.
  • Experience in government sector projects, preferably on the client side.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, regulations, and best practices and familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and deliver results within scope, time, and budget.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
